Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I love working with students in a one-on-one environment & seeing their skills develop & flourish.
Why should a student pick you?
- I love middle schoolers! I have run homework clubs in the past two schools where I have worked, including Title I tutoring, and strive to meet each student where he or she is academically & I encourage academic excellence.
Personal Statement:
- I am committed to helping my students be equipped for their futures. I am a CA credentialed English teacher, but have been teaching multiple subjects at the seventh and eighth grade levels for the past ten years. The past three years I have been employed at a private school where I additionally worked for San Diego city schools as a teacher consultant for the Title I program at my school, and prior to that, I was an on-site substitute where I had long-term assignments in English, math and science. I also was employed to tutor English learners and Title I students during this time and ran a homework club after school.
