Why do you want to be a tutor?
- As an educator, I believe in the need to meet the individual learning needs and styles of students. Tutoring is a perfect way to provide extra support that is specifically catered to each person. I also think that tutoring helps to focus instruction on what skills are really needed.
Why should a student pick you?
- I have always been able to relate very well to my students. I have worked with kids of different ages from infants to third graders. I like to make learning fun and interesting. I also love to use a lot of technology in my teaching! I have spent the last six months training teachers in San Diego how to use the new Promethean interactive whiteboards. I taught using Promethean for two years!
Personal Statement:
- I am very passionate about education, and I believe that every student can be successful. It would be an honor to help students meet new challenges and solve new problems. I have two years of general education classroom experience with Baltimore County Public Schools. I have over four years of experience working in childcare settings with infants and three-year-olds. I have editing and writing experience working for an educational publisher in Baltimore, Maryland. I am a technology-literate teacher, and I have developed and led professional development sessions on incorporating technology into instruction.
