Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I have done some tutoring with Sylvan Learning Center and enjoyed it. It is a great feeling to see a child's excitement when they read a sentence for the first time. I enjoy working with students one on one and feel I can make a difference in your child's learning.
Why should a student pick you?
- I am caring, fun, and I individualize my teaching to the needs of the student. I use different teaching methodologies to make sure my student can succeed. I like to use music in my teaching, games, and many visuals to make my lessons more interactive.
Personal Statement:
- I am a certified PreK-3 teacher. In my schooling, I had two student teaching experiences and also had a field experience in a school in New Zealand. I just moved here from Ohio, so I am not working in a school right now. My specialty is reading/phonics/vocabulary, but I can also do beginning math. I would like to do some tutoring and help children as I work towards a teaching job here in California.
